The fallacy of choice "
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them;
for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." One of the fallacies most prevalent
amongst believers as well as non believers, is the fallacy
of 'choice'. It is believed that an
individual always has the ability to choose when he
is faced with, what is right , and what is wrong. In
reality, the only choice that any
natural(delusional) individual can make, is to
choose whether he is going to accept in faith, that
he is deluded(irrational).
A non-believer(natural person) can choose to become a believer by means of faith, or he can choose what to idolize as a non-believer. A non-believer can therefore add to, or delete from, his idolatry mindset. When he finds something new to idolize, it will change his behavior accordingly, and conversely when he let's go of an idol, his behavior will also change. What is in his mind will determine his behavior. It is simply a case of cause and effect. His behavior is determined by the way he is programmed, his mindset. The only choice that a believer(spiritual
person) can make, is to delete from his "old man"
mindset, which he inherited from his previous life
style, before he was converted. This is known as
spiritual cleansing. As he is cleansed his behavior
will change for the better. The idea of choice is
only meaningful, as it relates to change.
Choice and change are interdependent. Here is an example of the fallacy of
'choice'. A smoker cannot choose not to smoke. The
only choice he has is to become a non-smoker.
In order to become a non-smoker, the smoker needs to
confess in faith that he cannot choose
to stop smoking. He can only make a confession
that he is a smoker, and this confession will enable
him to become a non smoker, provided he is
remorseful (repentant) about smoking. Change happens
by making choices against the grain, in faith,
it is an unpleasant thing to do. Pride is what
makes it difficult. Confession and repentance are the keys to change. A non-believer can only become a believer,
if he confesses in faith that he has the blood of
the Son of man on his hands. Which means that he has
rejected, crucified, the Son of man(truth). This is
the curse that has been imposed on him by the
corrupt social system. He cannot know this, he
is in denial, however, he can accept in faith
that he is deluded, repent, and become a new
person(converted). What all this means is that any
person's behavior is determined by his mindset. |
